Greetings people! I’m totally new and have absolutely no clue, anyways… let’s make music. I totally hate mashups, that’s why i did one, just to be sure. Surprisingly this sneaky little piece has proven extremely effective for the execution of kitchen work. further studies are made while you read this text.

Techdirt has a good post about why the “i sue your mum” record industry has not sued the mashup artist girltalk yet. It all comes down to this: “When asked, Gillis has repeatedly stated that if he’s sued he believes he has a strong fair use defense. Perhaps the lawyers at the record labels (and representing certain musicians) have all recognized the same thing. Gillis will almost certainly win in court, and all those terribly decided cases that ignore fair use in music will get pushed aside.” Read more..

Mud up has a  great blog post about mashup king Villa Diamante who has just released Empacho Digital (digital bellyache), a “3-disc mashup album”. Of course it isn’t available on disc – you just go download it. and read the rest of this very interesting post!

I made this mashup mix back in 2007 for a Radio Station. It features over 100 tracks and snippets, unfortunately i don´t have the track listing anymore. After just re-discovering the mix, i was pleasantly surprised that its still sort of current. Have a listen and tell me what you think about it.
