Here’s a Nu Cumbia mix I did about 9 months ago in February 2009, just thought it’d be great to give it a fresh airing somewhere.

Sorry I can’t remember the tracklist, save to say that it includes material from Discos Fuentes, ZZK Records, Bersa Discos and Sonido Del Principe.

Improvised & recorded in real time on Pioneer CDJ 1000 MKII & DJM 600 MIXER.

We share a loop from our track “Colombiana”. It contains a sample from “Colombia y Cuba” by Petrona Martínez, the finest bullerengue singer from Colombia caribbean coast and a true legend of afrocolombian music.

A mash-up of the gorgeous “Se Me Olvidó” (by Samim & Miguel Toro) with our track “Langa”. Polar’s younger brother Gonzalo plays soprano sax in this, but he’s not the nice lady on the photo. Good image, anyway.

The song is entitled “Bossa 0″ and recorded with a musician of Brazil called Paulo Sergio.

Giorgiolive is a dj / producer  of Drumm & Bass, and in almost all productions made blends Bossa Nova … sounds very nice!

Eddy Palmiery was the most extreme of the salsa greats. No wonder in 1968 he founded a band called LA PERFECTA…….

Jerry Gonzales was not playing in this concert, but still is a great band. Lot’s of places to sample and experiment.
