wow! this is becoming big! african music is the greatest, in my opinion, everything comes from there. asking myself if some north african mahgreb music fits in this collaboration, is quite different music but it has contact points that are amazing (that´s what mashup is all about, finding contact points apparently inexistent). have you guys heard GNAWA music? morocco meets senegal meets france

So true, african music is the roots of almost everything! I´ve been in love with all sorts of african music for ever and i´m very happy to see the electronic scene finally embracing the heritage full on. After all, thats how jazz became what it is (which was born before current copyright laws btw. When i traveled in marcoco a couple of years back, i discovered Gnawa music while high on a strong G-cooky in the sahara dessert
After that experience, i hunted down every bit of gnawa i could get. How about we do a Gnawa Mashup? Do you have some mp3s or shall i upload some for you?
